One text, two books
Martin Buber's »Tales of Angels, Spirits and Demons« were a project proposed by Suhrkamp Verlag, Germany, to our illustration class. They've planned to publish it in their series »Insel-Bücherei«, and after receiving all the entries from the students, they've decided to publish two versions of the same text for the first time in their long tradition. So this book with illustrations by me is one of the two versions. The other version was illustrated by Regina Gail with a bold brush technique.
Technique
I used scraper film, using old repro films from offset printing process, exposed and processed them in the photo lab and scraped off broad areas with a glass scraper knife, fine lines with a scalpel.
